Md. Shakawath Hossain, Chief Executive Officer of Unique Hotel & Resorts PLC, has been honoured with the prestigious Who’s Who Bangladesh Award 2026 in the Professionals category, recognising his outstanding leadership, professional excellence, and significant contributions to Bangladesh’s hospitality and tourism industry.
The award was presented by Yasser Khan Choudhury at the Who’s Who Bangladesh 2026 Award Ceremony, according to a press release.
The event recognised 12 distinguished individuals and one institution for their exceptional achievements across various sectors. Among the notable award recipients were Prof. Dr. GKM Mustafizur Rahman in the field of agriculture, renowned actress Farida Akter Popy in art and culture, and Shahidul Alam, who received the Lifetime Achievement Award.
The ceremony was attended by distinguished dignitaries, professionals, and prominent personalities from across the country.

This latest recognition adds to a distinguished list of accolades earned by Md. Shakawath Hossain throughout his professional career. His previous honours include Tourism Face of South Asia by the South Asian Travel Awards, Best Hotelier of Bangladesh at the Hi-Aim Conference in Nepal, Best Hospitality Icon at the American Curry Awards, Hospitality Business Professional Award by TOAB, and Most Awarded Hotelier of 2024 by BIHA.
He is also recognised as the only Bangladeshi hotelier serving simultaneously as an industry practitioner, academician, and researcher, and is a Capstone Fellow of the National Defence College.
