The Global Academy of Fashion Innovation and Research (GAFIR) organized a event titled “FIFA Worls Cup 2026 Street Fashion Show” transforming the excitement of the upcoming FIFA World Cup into a vibrant showcase of fashion, creativity and youth talent.
The event, held in Dhanmondi, Dhaka, showcased the artistic talents of young designers and highlighted the deep connection between football culture and fashion. One of the major attractions of the event was Bangladesh’s first-ever World Cup-themed street fashion show, held on June 7. Professional models, fashion designers, and GAFIR students took part in the open-air runway presentation, displaying creative outfits inspired by the colors, identities, and football traditions of various World Cup nations.
The fashion show reflected the enthusiasm of football fans, national pride, and the rich diversity of global football culture. Through innovative designs, participants transformed jerseys and fan-inspired apparel into contemporary fashion statements, creating a unique fusion of sports, culture, and creativity.
Football is more than just a game in Bangladesh – it is an emotion shared by millions. Every World Cup season, streets, rooftops, and neighborhoods across the country are decorated with the flags and colors of favorite teams. The extraordinary passion of Bangladeshi football fans has often attracted international attention and has been featured on various FIFA platforms.

To celebrate this nationwide enthusiasm in a creative manner, GAFIR Fashion Institute designed the World Cup Fashion Celebration as a platform for emerging designers to showcase their talents while exploring the intersection of football and fashion.
On June 6, the institute also hosted a day-long World Cup Fashion Design Workshop. Participants developed jersey concepts and fashion apparel inspired by the football heritage, culture, and national identities of Argentina, Brazil, Portugal, France, and Germany. The workshop included specialized sessions on fashion concept development, styling, trend analysis, and creative presentation techniques.
According to the organizers, the primary objective of the event was to provide young designers with a larger platform to demonstrate their innovative ideas and contemporary fashion skills while celebrating Bangladesh’s vibrant World Cup fan culture.

Organizers believe that the World Cup craze in Bangladesh extends far beyond stadiums and television screens. It has become an integral part of the country’s culture, art, and creative expression. Through this exceptional initiative, GAFIR Fashion Institute has presented that reality in a fresh and inspiring way.
