Mohammad Sharif Mollah: A Lifetime of Leadership in the Hospitality Industry

With more than four decades of distinguished service in the hospitality industry, Mohammad Sharif Mollah continues to inspire professionals through his dedication, leadership, and commitment to excellence. Currently serving as Deputy General Manager at Lakeshore Grand Hotel, Gulshan-2, Dhaka, he remains one of the industry’s most respected figures.

Sharif began his hospitality career in 1981 at Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel, Dhaka joining the organization at the grassroots level. Through hard work, determination, and continuous learning, he steadily progressed through various roles and ultimately rose to the position of Food & Beverage and Culinary Manager. After serving the prestigious hotel for 23 years, he retired in June 2004.

Retirement, however, was not the end of his professional journey. In July 2004, he joined the Lakeshore Hospitality Group, driven by his passion for the industry and his desire to continue contributing to its growth and development.

Reflecting on his career, Sharif strongly believes that true leadership is built from the ground up. Starting from the very root level of the profession enabled him to develop the skills, strength, knowledge, and practical experience that shaped him into a successful hospitality leader.

One of his proudest achievements is the thousands of hospitality professionals he has trained and mentored over the years. Many of his trainees now serve in leading positions across Bangladesh and internationally, carrying forward the values and standards he helped instill.

Throughout his remarkable career, Sharif has had the privilege of serving some of the world’s most distinguished leaders and dignitaries, including Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, former U.S. Presidents Jimmy Carter and Bill Clinton, former German Chancellor Helmut Kohl, former Indian Prime Ministers Rajiv Gandhi and P. V. Narasimha Rao, former Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad, former Pakistani President General Pervez Musharraf, former Pakistani Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto, former Sri Lankan President Ranasinghe Premadasa, as well as numerous Presidents and Prime Ministers of Bangladesh and other nations.

Today, after more than 45 years in hospitality, Mohammad Sharif Mollah continues to serve with the same enthusiasm and dedication that marked the beginning of his career. His journey stands as a testament to the power of perseverance, lifelong learning, and passion for service – qualities that continue to inspire the next generation of hospitality professionals.
