“Bangladesh Festival” spanning four days commence on September 27th

Dhaka: The Bangladesh Tourism Board under the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism is set to host a four-day ‘Bangladesh Festival’ to commemorate World Tourism Day, centered around the theme of ‘Environmentally Friendly Investment in Tourism.’ This grand event is scheduled to kick off on September 27 and run until September 30 at the Bangabandhu International Conference Center in the capital city.

The festival will run daily from 11 am to 11 pm. It was officially announced by Md. Mokammel Hossain, the Secretary of the Civil Aviation and Tourism Ministry during a press conference held at the luxurious Intercontinental Hotel in the capital on Sunday, September 25. Distinguished individuals attending the announcement included Rahat Anwar, Chairman of the Bangladesh Tourism Corporation; Abu Tahir Muhammad Jaber, Chief Executive of the Bangladesh Tourism Board; Azam Khan, Group Chief Communications Officer of the Bangladesh Tourism Board; Sadequl Arefin, CEO of Mutual Trust Bank Ltd.; and Priyata Iftekhar, National Director of Bangladesh Tourism Beauty, The Flag Girl.

This festival promises to be a collaboration of various sectors within the tourism industry, with participation from airlines, hotels, resorts, amusement parks, tourist vessels, travel agents, and tour operators. Additionally, tourism product and service providers from different districts will also join in the festivities.

Visitors can look forward to a wide array of offers and nationwide tourism opportunities during the festival, helping them plan exciting future trips in Bangladesh. The event will showcase not only international cuisine but also authentic and traditional Bangladeshi dishes. Attendees will have the chance to explore Bangladesh’s natural beauty, archaeological sites, history, traditions, and tourism resources, all while enjoying picturesque glimpses of tourist attractions from each district. The four-day cultural program, which runs throughout the festival, features an assortment of performances, including Gambhira, Gazi Kalur Pat, Street Drama, Baul Song, Puthi Path, and Kawali, among others.

The Bangladesh Tourism Board envisions making this festival an annual celebration at the same venue to mark World Tourism Day. Through the Bangladesh Festival, it aims to provide a platform for showcasing the rich cultural heritage and travel opportunities that Bangladesh offers.
